Special Seminar: Financial Planning for Your Child with Special Needs
As a parent or caregiver, you know well the ins and outs of supporting a child or loved one with special needs – including the expense of providing and maintaining the services and supports they rely on.
But what happens when you are no longer here? By having a solid financial plan in place, you can be comforted, knowing that your child or loved one will be cared and provided for well into the future.
Life’s WORC Trust Services was pleased to host a special seminar on Thursday, May 3, to address these concerns. In partnership with The Family Center for Autism, the Trust Department invited special guest speakers to present to the group of nearly 60 parents. To make it possible for more families to attend, the Family Center for Autism also offered its experienced staff to host activities for children during the seminar, to eliminate the concern for childcare.
The presenters all stressed the importance of planning ahead for your loved ones needs. The need for a will, a trust, advanced directives, and insurance were the hot topics of the night. Our guests had numerous questions including the use of ABLE accounts, successor trustees, the distinct between pooled trusts and individual trusts, and so much more.
Thank you to our presenters:
- Marianne A. Simoni, Esq., Associate Attorney – Law Offices of Andrew M. Cohen, P.C.
- Andrew Levey, Forest Hills Financial Group
- Paulette Elbers, Life’s WORC Trust Services
We look forward to more of these events in the future!
